Bielsko-Biała mayor cancels land sale as Rzochów residents seek planning audit
In Bielsko-Biała, Mayor Jarosław Klimaszewski has announced a reversal regarding the sale of municipal land in Kamienica. Just before a decisive vote by the City Council, the Mayor stated that over 20,000 square meters of property located on Pileckiego Street will no longer be put up for sale. The land, previously slated for residential development with an estimated value of 19.68 million PLN, will remain part of the city's assets following opposition from local residents who wished to preserve the area's green character.
In a separate local matter, residents of Rzochów have escalated their concerns regarding spatial planning to the Podkarpackie Voivodeship Office. Mariusz Mazur, representing local interests, has submitted a formal request for a legal audit of the City Council's resolution and related planning provisions. Residents expressed fears that proposed development plans could negatively impact the neighborhood's character, spatial order, and quality of life. The supervisory authority will now analyze whether the city's planning procedures complied with existing regulations.
