Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway faces repeated electrical equipment theft

The Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway project is facing significant setbacks due to repeated theft and vandalism of electrical infrastructure. Project Management Unit 85 reported that electrical cables and lighting equipment have been stolen for the third time at the second component project (Km16+000 - Km34+200).

These incidents have caused hundreds of millions of VND in damages and are threatening the overall inspection and handover schedule, which aimed to have the project operational by September 2. The stolen items include lighting systems on the main expressway route and four branches at the Long Thanh intersection.

Project Management Unit 85 has formally requested the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee and local police forces to investigate the thefts, apprehend the perpetrators, and recover the stolen assets to ensure the safety and quality of the expressway's operation.
