Bienal del Impenetrable wraps up in Castelli, Argentina

The Bienal del Impenetrable, a six‑day outdoor sculpture festival in Juan José Castelli, Chaco, concluded on Sunday, 2 August. The final program featured family‑friendly activities, health and education workshops, puppet shows, CPR training, and a closing ceremony that awarded the participating artists. The musical group Gualamba performed the evening concert.

Local visual‑arts teacher and sculptor Mariela Silvana Mendieta created a live piece titled “Orgánica” in the town’s central plaza, blending morphological study with instruction for her students. Organized by the Fundación Amigos del Arte y Turismo together with municipal and provincial authorities, the biennial brought together Argentine and international sculptors who worked amid the region’s cold temperatures, heat and strong northern winds, turning the Chaco landscape into part of the artistic experience.
