Biennale College – Blend awards ‘The 3 Bitcoin Opera’ top prize

The project ‘The 3 Bitcoin Opera’ by Claudix Vanesix and Cristina Soto Arias has been named the winner of the pilot edition of Biennale College – Blend 2025-26. The multidisciplinary program, organized by the Biennale di Venezia, is designed for works that transcend traditional artistic disciplines.

The winning project, a collaboration between artists from Peru and France, was awarded a prize of 20,000 euros. The award ceremony took place during Venezia 83 at the Venice Immersive Island (Lazzaretto Vecchio) in the presence of Biennale di Venezia President Pietrangelo Buttafuoco and Biennale Cinema Artistic Director Alberto Barbera.

The 3 Bitcoin Opera’ reinterprets Bertolt Brecht’s ‘The Threepenny Opera’ within a contemporary setting defined by algorithmic power, surveillance capitalism, artificial intelligence, war economies, and ecological collapse. The narrative focuses on a relationship between Xenon9, a transfeminine cyborg, and Felicidad, a non-human transmasculine being.

The Biennale College – Blend program supports the development of six international projects, involving a total of 12 participants, including artists and production team members.
