Bieszczady: Mother leaves minor children alone in heavy fog on hiking trail

A woman left her two minor sons, aged 8 and 14, unattended on a hiking trail in the Bieszczady Mountains on October 17. The incident occurred near the intersection of the blue and yellow trails in the Muczne area, specifically in the Bukowe Berdo region, during heavy fog.

Passing hikers from the PTTK Rzeszów branch discovered the children crying and disoriented. According to the hikers, the mother had abandoned them, stating they should wait fifteen minutes if they were complaining about the hike, before she continued alone toward a mountain summit. The younger child attempted to wander off the trail into dangerous, foggy terrain in distress before the mother returned approximately fifteen minutes later.

Witnesses reported that the mother showed little remorse for leaving the children in hazardous weather conditions, claiming she only left briefly to avoid being delayed by them. The incident was documented by the PTTK Rzeszów branch on social media.
