Big Brother housemate Omar receives warning following complaints

Big Brother contestant Omar has been issued a formal behaviour warning by producers following intense viewer backlash and approximately 7,000 Ofcom complaints. The warning follows allegations of controlling behaviour regarding his interactions with fellow housemate and romantic interest, Rhianna.

During a Diary Room session, Big Brother informed Omar that his conduct appeared to dismiss the feelings and experiences of other housemates and that his language could cause offence. Omar disputed the warning, stating he had not dismissed anyone's feelings and was merely telling the truth.

The controversy has drawn criticism from the charity Women’s Aid, which expressed concern that the programme may be providing a platform for coercive and controlling behaviours. The organization urged broadcasters like ITV to consult with experts regarding such depictions in popular media.
