Big Brother Portugal Summer Edition sees escalating conflicts among housemates

The summer season of Portugal’s reality show "Big Brother Verão" aired on 19 July 2026 and quickly became marked by mounting tension among contestants. In one episode, Nuno and Vanessa clashed after Nuno suggested that Vanessa was using contestant João to gain visibility. Vanessa replied, "Já ouvi várias teorias acerca de mim e do João" and expressed hurt, saying, "Eu fico triste, como é que é possível?" Nuno later clarified that his remarks were limited to the game, stating, "Isto aqui não tem nada a ver com a amizade que eu tenho com a Vanessa, porque não é um ataque pessoal".

A separate controversy involved Raquel, also a housemate, whose behavior was criticised by Nuno’s family. They described her as “toxic” and accused her of pressuring Nuno, who is not seeking a new relationship. Raquel, from the Algarve, voiced discomfort over the proximity between Nuno and fellow contestant Sara and made several confrontational statements.

Other participants mentioned included João, Tatiana, Sara and Joana, with alliances shifting and friendships breaking as the show progresses.
