The reality television series ‘Big Brother’ is set to reach a historic milestone, becoming the first primetime show to air 1,000 episodes. The anniversary episode is scheduled to broadcast on August 27, 2026.

To celebrate the achievement, CBS will air a special 90-minute episode. Executive producer Allison Grodner noted that the program will include reflections on the show’s history and fan-engaged reveals, such as polls regarding favorite moments and winners. The milestone occurs during the airing of ‘Big Brother 28’.

Host Julie Chen Moonves, who has been with the series since its inception in 2000, reflected on the show's evolution from its early struggles with ratings and criticism regarding the blurring of lines between news and entertainment to its current status as a major social experiment.
