BIG EAST Awards Creighton Track, UConn Cross Country in 2025-26 Honors

The BIG EAST Conference announced its 2025-26 Team Academic Excellence Awards, honoring the highest‑cumulative GPA teams in each of the conference’s 22 sponsored sports. The awards highlight the academic achievements of student‑athletes during the 2025‑26 academic year and are presented to the team with the top overall grade‑point average in each sport.

Creighton University’s men’s indoor and outdoor track teams each earned the award, posting a team GPA of 3.628. This marks the second consecutive indoor track honor and the third straight outdoor track award for Creighton.

The University of Connecticut’s women’s cross country team captured its sport’s award with a 3.810 team GPA, reflecting the program’s strong classroom performance. Other schools also received honors in various sports, but Creighton and UConn were the primary recipients highlighted for track and cross country.
