Big Little Lies Season 3 Development Gains Hope from Kathryn Newton

Actress Kathryn Newton told People she is "really, really, really, really hopeful" about a third season of HBO’s drama *Big Little Lies*, adding that she thinks good things are coming for the show. Her optimism follows Reese Witherspoon’s on‑air confirmation that a season three is "in process" during a June 22 appearance on *The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon*.

Series creator David E. Kelley also hinted progress, saying at a recent press event that “we’re getting the band back together, and it should be a good run again,” though he noted he cannot share further details. The show, which debuted in 2017 and returned for a second season in 2019 with Meryl Streep joining the cast, stars Nicole Kidman, Laura Dern, Shailene Woodley, Zoë Kravitz and others. Contracts with the main stars have not yet been signed, but the core team remains committed to a possible continuation.
