Big Ten unveils 2026-27 men's basketball conference opponents

The Big Ten Conference has released the full opponent matrix for the 2026‑27 men’s basketball season. Each of the 14 league members will play a 20‑game schedule that includes three home‑and‑away (double‑play) matchups and 14 single‑play games, split evenly between home and road venues.

Rutgers’s double‑play opponents are Maryland, Penn State and Purdue, while Purdue will host Indiana, Illinois and Rutgers twice. UCLA and USC, the league’s West‑Coast members, will each face the other, Oregon and Washington twice, completing the conference’s integration of its Pacific schools. All schools now know which opponents they will host and travel to, from traditional rivals like Indiana‑Purdue to newer matchups such as UCLA‑Washington.

The announcement also notes that this is the first season since 2022‑23 without any coaching changes across the conference. Dates, times and broadcast details will be issued later in the summer.
