Big Ten expands live replay audio and video access

The Big Ten Conference has announced an expansion of its live instant replay look-in access for college football broadcasts. Starting this Saturday, fans will be able to listen to live audio between game referees and replay officials during reviews, while also viewing footage from the Big Ten Replay Center.

This expansion applies to all conference games and home non-conference games officiated by Big Ten crews. The move follows recent controversy regarding a Michigan victory over Western Michigan, where a discrepancy between the league’s replay camera feed and the television broadcast clock led to public dissent and calls for protocol changes from the Mid-American Conference.

While the Big Ten previously implemented this feature for Friday night games, the new policy broadens access to most home games. However, the feature will not be available for the upcoming Michigan vs. Oklahoma matchup because the game will be officiated by an SEC crew.
