Big Thief debuts new triple album ‘Horsepower’ in Nashville

The band Big Thief debuted their upcoming triple album, titled ‘Horsepower’, during a private performance at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. The ambitious project consists of 29 songs.

Frontwoman Adrienne Lenker introduced the record to the audience, noting that while the songs were performed in full, they were not played in the final album sequence. The performance featured an expanded lineup including musicians Russ Pahl, Greg Leisz, and a violin section. The event also included guest appearances by Iris DeMent, Gillian Welch, and Lucinda Williams.

To preserve the exclusivity of the debut, photography and recording were prohibited for the audience, though the show was professionally filmed for a future release. This follows the band’s 2025 release, ‘Double Infinity’.
