BIG W launches Same Day Delivery service with DoorDash

BIG W has launched a Same Day Delivery service powered by DoorDash to assist Australian families with last-minute shopping needs. The rollout coincides with the upcoming Book Week, a period where research from BIG W indicates that 49% of parents delay costume planning until the final days.

According to the retailer, 89% of parents report facing hurdles related to Book Week, including last-minute costume change requests from children. BIG W Chief Customer Officer Ryan Gracie noted that the service is intended to act as a lifeline for busy families facing unexpected needs. DoorDash ANZ Head of Sales and Partnerships Katy Rogers stated the partnership aims to help households access everyday essentials more easily.

The service is currently available across select eligible postcodes in Australia, with plans for further expansion in the coming weeks.
