Big30 denies involvement in Gucci Mane robbery allegations

Memphis rapper Big30, born Rodney Wright Jr., has denied federal allegations that he and Pooh Shiesty were involved in the robbery and kidnapping of Gucci Mane. Speaking on the “Perspektives With Bank” podcast, Big30 maintained his innocence, stating, “What they said we did, we didn’t do.”

The case stems from an alleged incident on January 10, 2026, at a recording studio in Dallas, Texas. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, Pooh Shiesty (Lontrell Williams Jr.) allegedly arranged a business meeting regarding a recording agreement with 1017 Records that turned into an armed confrontation involving nine men. Prosecutors claim an AK-style pistol was used to force Gucci Mane to sign paperwork.

Big30 also criticized social media commentators and bloggers for spreading damaging narratives and speculating that his release on bond indicated cooperation with investigators. He challenged the government's version of events, asserting that authorities would need to prove the allegations.
