Big5 Türkiye removes contestant Rengin Duru Oğuz

Big5 Türkiye has terminated the participation of contestant Rengin Duru Oğuz following the resurfacing of controversial social media footage. The management announced on August 15, 2026, that Oğuz’s preparation camp has been ended and her connection to the competition has been severed.

The decision follows widespread social media backlash regarding past recordings in which Oğuz allegedly used derogatory and insulting language toward the physical appearance of two women. The footage reportedly included insults regarding their looks, suggestions they undergo aesthetic surgery, and expressions of death wishes.

This incident follows previous controversy within the competition involving contestant Ezgi Güçlü, who faced allegations of peer bullying dating back to her kindergarten years. While Güçlü denied those claims, the recent dismissal of Oğuz marks a significant development in the management of contestant conduct during the new season's preparation phase.
