Biga State Hospital implements advanced cardiac imaging technology
Biga State Hospital in Çanakkale has upgraded its technological infrastructure with the acquisition of a new 128-slice Computed Tomography (CT) scanner. The device provides high-resolution imaging and advanced analytical capabilities designed to improve the diagnosis and assessment of cardiovascular diseases.
A key feature of the new technology is the ability to perform Coronary CT Angiography, also known as virtual angiography. This allows physicians to examine the structure of coronary arteries, identify plaques, and assess potential narrowing in suitable patients.
In addition to virtual angiography, the device supports several advanced cardiac analyses, including Coronary Calcium Scoring (C5) to evaluate calcium buildup, Fractional Flow Reserve (FFR) analysis to determine the functional impact of arterial narrowing on blood flow, and Coronary Fat Tissue Attenuation Index (FAI) analysis to assess adipose tissue surrounding the coronary arteries.
