Bigastro rejects debt agreement and proceeds with campsite eviction

The municipality of Bigastro has rejected a debt repayment proposal from the concessionaire of the La Pedrera campsite, proceeding with the eviction of the company from the facilities. The company, Gerval 2013, had offered to settle a debt of approximately 73,917 euros in an attempt to halt the takeover of the municipal site.

Local authorities stated that the decision to rescind the concession is based on the breach of contract conditions rather than the outstanding debt, meaning a payment agreement would not reverse the eviction. A judge in Elche previously denied a request for an injunction to stop the process, ruling that the company failed to sufficiently demonstrate why the execution should be suspended regardless of the final litigation outcome.
