BIGBANG concerts in Goyang prompt major safety inspections
South Korean authorities and concert organizers have conducted on-site safety inspections at the Goyang Sports Complex ahead of BIGBANG’s 20th anniversary world tour concerts. The three-day event, scheduled for August 21–23, is expected to draw more than 108,000 fans, with approximately 36,000 spectators anticipated each day.
On August 18, officials from Gyeonggi Province, Goyang City, and various safety experts reviewed movement routes to identify potential crowd congestion points. The inspection focused on managing spectator flow during peak times, specifically during mass arrivals before the shows and simultaneous exits after the performances.
Key concerns include preventing bottlenecks at entrances, exits, and public transportation hubs. While specific numbers regarding the deployment of police, firefighters, and security personnel have not been disclosed, officials emphasized the importance of clear signage, crowd control protocols, and emergency response strategies to ensure public safety.
