BIGBANG named inaugural ambassadors for Korea AeroSpace Administration
The K-pop group BIGBANG has been appointed as the inaugural honorary ambassadors for the Korea AeroSpace Administration (KASA). This appointment marks the first time the agency has named artists to represent its mission since its establishment in 2024.
As ambassadors, the group will serve as a bridge between the agency and the public, promoting South Korea’s aerospace ambitions and major initiatives. They will participate in the “Dream Capsule” campaign, a public engagement program where citizens can submit messages regarding space exploration.
In a unique collaboration, fan messages submitted via a dedicated microsite will be converted into code inspired by the 1974 Arecibo Message. This data will be loaded onto the fifth launch of South Korea’s Nuri rocket for transmission into space. The appointment coincides with the group’s 20th anniversary and their upcoming “XX: Cosmos” world tour.
