Bigfoot 1967 film authenticity questioned by new documentary

A new documentary titled ‘Capturing Bigfoot’, directed by Marq Evans, has introduced new evidence that may suggest the famous 1967 Patterson-Gimlin film was a staged production. The documentary features a 16mm film reel that was reportedly kept hidden for decades.

The footage, which was discovered by Teresa Brooks—the daughter of former Boeing film laboratory worker Norm Johnson—appears to show a rehearsal or a preliminary recording of a figure similar to the one seen in the original 1967 video. The original footage, captured by Roger Patterson and Bob Gimlin near Bluff Creek, California, has been a subject of intense debate for nearly 60 years, with critics long suggesting it depicted a person in a costume.

While the documentary presents these new images and testimonies as evidence of a potential hoax, the authenticity and origin of the 16mm film have not yet been confirmed through independent verification.
