Bigme announces HiBreak Dual 3 with detachable rear screen

Bigme has announced the HiBreak Dual 3, the third generation of its hybrid smartphone that combines E Ink and LCD technologies. Released only two months after its predecessor, the new model introduces a detachable color LCD screen on the rear, a significant change from the fixed 5-inch panel found on the HiBreak Dual 2.

The device features an E Ink front display with an improved refresh rate of 85 Hz, up from 80 Hz in the previous version. Internally, the smartphone is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8300 processor, with options for 12 GB or 16 GB of RAM. It runs on Android 16 and supports 5G connectivity with dual SIM capabilities.

Designed for productivity and creativity, the HiBreak Dual 3 supports a stylus with 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity. The rear camera module has also been redesigned into a horizontal pill shape. While the detachable nature of the rear screen offers new possibilities for use as a keyboard or tablet, the full extent of its functionality remains unconfirmed.
