Bigouden Coast Launches Summer Water‑Safety Campaign
The coastal region of Bigouden in Brittany has rolled out a summer campaign to reduce drowning and other water‑related accidents. Running from early July to mid‑September, the initiative – coordinated by the CCPBS and supported by the French Ministry of Sports – uses illustrated posters, social‑media posts, a dedicated magazine supplement and a microsite accessed via QR code. Each poster highlights a specific hazard such as strong currents, fatigue, rocky zones or sudden weather changes and offers simple preventive actions.
The campaign also includes a harmonised beach‑signage system and updated emergency‑contact information to help visitors and locals recognise risks quickly. By providing practical advice and raising awareness, the programme aims to make the Bigouden shoreline safer for families, tourists and water‑sport enthusiasts throughout the summer season.
