Bihać and Bosanska Otoka resume passenger rail service

Željeznice Federacije Bosne i Hercegovine has announced the resumption of regular local passenger train services on the Bihać – Bosanska Otoka – Bihać route. This marks the first time this line has operated since 2013.

Starting August 31, the service will run on weekdays, offering morning and afternoon departures. Specific schedules have been established to accommodate students, workers, and commuters. For example, the morning train departs Bosanska Otoka at 6:10, arriving in Bihać at 7:20. Additional special departures are scheduled for early Monday mornings and Friday evenings to assist travelers.

The revitalization of the Una railway line is supported by the Ministry of Economy of the Una-Sana Canton, which provided 250,000 KM in co-financing. The project aims to improve local mobility and strengthen the economic and tourism potential of the region.
