Bihać Cantonal Hospital undergoes major modernization

The Dr. Irfan Ljubijankić Cantonal Hospital in Bihać is entering the final stages of a major renovation aimed at modernizing key departments and improving patient care conditions.

Through the Federal Ministry of Health's consolidation program, 2 million KM was secured for the reconstruction of three floors in the Kasindol building. Improvements include updated building elements and installations, as well as a shift in patient accommodation where room capacities will be reduced from six beds to three to enhance comfort. The hospital has also acquired new medical furniture and is preparing a space for a newly purchased hyperbaric chamber.

To maintain continuity of care during construction, the Center for Urgent Medicine has been temporarily relocated within the complex. Officials state that despite reduced spatial capacity, the service remains operational 24 hours a day.
