Bihać hosts Trahanijada traditional food competition

The Trahanijada festival was held at Gelendere in Bihać, featuring a culinary competition centered on the preparation of trahana, a traditional dish from the Krajina region. This year, 25 teams participated, competing before a professional jury using their own recipes.

Organizers noted that interest in the event exceeded capacity, requiring a selection process due to the venue's limitations. The festival aims to preserve traditional recipes and customs, passing culinary skills from older to younger generations while promoting local gastronomic and cultural heritage to residents and tourists.

Bihać Mayor Elvedin Dedić stated that the event serves as an opportunity for citizens to showcase their culinary skills and for visitors to experience the city's cultural heritage. The manifestation also serves as a component of Bihać's tourism offerings.
