Bihać launches 135,000 KM livestock project for rural families
The City of Bihać and the NGO Muslim Aid have signed an agreement for a joint project aimed at supporting livestock production and the economic empowerment of rural families and youth. The project, valued at over 135,000 KM, involves the purchase of 16 heifers to help establish small family farms.
Financing for the initiative is shared among three parties: the City of Bihać is providing approximately 53,000 KM, Muslim Aid is contributing roughly 64,000 KM, and the project beneficiaries are providing 15,000 KM. The total cost for each heifer, including transport and quarantine, is estimated at 6,250 KM.
Mayor Elvedin Sedić stated that the goal is to strengthen farmers and improve socio-economic conditions in rural areas. He noted that annual investments in agricultural production in the region exceed 500,000 KM. This marks the fourth collaboration between the City and Muslim Aid, following three previous projects focused on greenhouse production.
