Bihar BDO Anand Kumar Vibhuti raided over disproportionate assets

The Economic Offences Unit (EOU) has conducted raids against Anand Kumar Vibhuti, the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Bahadurpur in the Darbhanga district of Bihar. The officer is accused of accumulating assets worth approximately 1.30 crore rupees beyond his known sources of income during his 12-year service period, representing an increase of 121.87 percent.

During the simultaneous raids at five locations, including his rented residence in Saidnagar, Janakpuri, and sites in Muzaffarpur, investigators froze 16 bank accounts belonging to the BDO and his family members. The EOU is currently examining transaction records and digital evidence. A bank locker was also identified, which is slated for further inspection to uncover additional financial details.

Reports indicate that the BDO was not present at his residence during the early morning raid. Vibhuti had been transferred to Bahadurpur from the Kanti block in Muzaffarpur only two months prior. The investigation is ongoing as authorities seek to identify further undisclosed properties, cash, or valuables.
