Bihar BJP chief Sanjay Saravgi condemns TMC over Mamata Banerjee hate‑speech FIR

On June 13, 2026, Bihar BJP president Sanjay Saravgi responded to a First Information Report (FIR) filed against former West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee for alleged hate speech. He accused the Trinamool Congress (TMC) of committing "sins" over the past 15 years, citing corruption and "cut‑money" schemes, and said the law will bring the party to account.

Saravgi claimed that police and CID teams have repeatedly visited Abhishek Banerjee’s residence for questioning, describing it as evidence that the TMC must atone for its actions. He noted that more than 60 TMC legislators have left the party and announced a transition to the opposition, suggesting the party can no longer win elections under its current symbol.

He also referred to a separate issue in Madhya Pradesh, commenting that the Congress leader Meenakshi Natarajan’s Rajya Sabha nomination was cancelled, and emphasizing that the BJP has secured all three seats there.
