Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary vows crackdown on criminals and extends college hours

Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary warned that the state will no longer tolerate criminal activity, telling offenders they must leave Bihar or flee to Nepal. He cited a recent incident in which a person challenged a police officer with a weapon, noting that the suspect was arrested and hospitalised, and affirmed that the government will pursue “hard‑line” action against anyone who threatens law and order.

Choudhary also called for higher‑education reforms, proposing that all state colleges run classes until 8 p.m. to make education more accessible and curb student migration to other states. He highlighted plans to establish over 200 new colleges, as well as open‑air and distance‑learning universities, as part of a broader effort to strengthen Bihar’s higher‑education infrastructure.
