Bihar CM Samrat Chaudhary leads 1,100‑pilgrim Somnath Yatra

On July 20, Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary announced a special pilgrimage departing from Patna Junction for more than 1,100 devotees to visit the Somnath temple. He framed the trip as a historic chance to connect with India’s cultural heritage, noting that 2026 marks the thousand‑year anniversary of the temple’s historic attack and the 75th anniversary of its restoration by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and President Rajendra Prasad.

The state government said it has arranged food, medical care, security, accommodation and other essential facilities to ensure a smooth and safe journey. Chaudhary concluded his message with the chants “Har‑Har Mahadev” and “Jai Somnath”, wishing all pilgrims a blessed visit.
