Bihar CM Samrat Choudhary announces AI reforms and 213 new degree colleges

Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary said that artificial intelligence and other digital tools will be integrated into the state assembly to make legislative proceedings more efficient, transparent and effective. He made the remarks while inaugurating a two‑day orientation programme for newly elected MLAs at the Bihar Institute of Public Administration and Rural Development in Gaya, urging legislators to master parliamentary procedures and use technology to strengthen democratic institutions.

At the same event, Choudhary announced that the state government will launch 213 new degree‑granting colleges across various blocks from 15 July. The initiative is presented as a major step to broaden access to higher education, allowing students to study closer to home and supporting Bihar’s long‑term development. The programme was attended by the state governor, assembly speaker, legislative council chairman and deputy chief minister, and highlighted ongoing infrastructure projects under public‑private partnership models and the government’s Sahyog Karyakram for faster grievance redressal.
