Bihar CM Samrat Choudhary celebrates 100 days in office with massive development push

On July 25, Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary marked the 100‑day milestone of his government with a ceremony in Patna. The administration announced the launch and foundation‑stone laying of 2,476 projects worth ₹11,464 crore, covering roads, bridges, irrigation, drinking‑water supplies, health centres and schools. Key initiatives include starting 211 new degree colleges, converting 551 schools into model schools, and preparing 12 satellite townships. The CM reiterated a goal of attracting ₹5 lakh crore of investment by November and pledging an industry in each of the state’s 534 blocks, citing plans for an electronics manufacturing park, a dedicated steel‑plant hub, 25 new sugar mills and expanded textile and food‑processing units.

Administrative reforms were also highlighted: 13 new bills were passed, a 132‑year‑old jail manual was scrapped, and a crackdown on crime saw 16 alleged criminals killed in encounters. Anti‑corruption actions targeted officials involved in tender scams. Social measures introduced a monthly “pension day” for about 9.78 million beneficiaries, a “police sister” initiative for women’s safety, and a target to cut emergency‑call response time to under eight minutes. The CM described the government as “the people’s government, serving as their servants.”
