Bihar: Four dead in Patna district after suspected spurious liquor consumption
Four people have died in Bedhna village, located in the Barh area of Patna district, Bihar, following the suspected consumption of spurious liquor. The victims reportedly fell ill after consuming the alcohol and died during medical treatment.
Bihar’s Agriculture Minister, Vijay Kumar Sinha, visited the village to meet with the families of the deceased and coordinate with administrative officials. Sinha has ordered the Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Baidhn to conduct a thorough investigation and has directed that post-mortem examinations be performed to confirm the exact cause of death.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the procurement and consumption of the liquor. While the deaths have caused local panic, officials have not yet officially confirmed that toxic or illicit liquor was the cause, pending the results of medical reports. The incident occurs amid ongoing enforcement of liquor prohibition in the state.
