Bihar government launches school reform and new official protocols
Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary has launched the ‘One Officer–One Model School’ initiative to enhance the quality of education in state-run schools. The program aims to improve academic environments, strengthen JEE and NEET preparation, and integrate digital learning through 24x7 interactive platforms. Under this system, officials will be directly linked to schools to ensure time-bound resolution of issues and regular inspections of teaching quality and student attendance.
In a separate administrative move, the Bihar government has revised protocols for how officials interact with elected representatives. A new directive from the General Administration Department mandates that government officials must promptly answer calls from Members of Parliament (MPs) and Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs). If a call is missed, officials are required to return the call immediately upon becoming available. The directive also requires officials to acknowledge letters from legislators and provide written responses regarding actions taken within stipulated timeframes.
