Bihar implements healthcare staffing and faces disaster relief demands

In Bihar, the state government has announced the appointment of 792 dressers, 644 X-ray technicians, and 24 pharmacists to strengthen public health services. These appointments, based on recommendations from the Bihar Technical Service Commission, aim to address staff shortages in medical colleges, district hospitals, and community health centers. The placement process utilized randomization software from the National Informatics Centre to ensure transparency.

Separately, Tejashwi Yadav, leader of the opposition in the Bihar Legislative Assembly, has called for immediate relief for citizens affected by both floods and drought. He demanded that the central and state governments provide 15,000 rupees in assistance to affected farmers and requested that the situation in Bihar be declared a national disaster. Yadav noted that over 4.5 million people have been impacted by floods, while significant rainfall deficits have led to drought conditions in other areas.
