Bihar issued yellow alert for rain and thunderstorms in 18 districts
The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for 18 districts in Bihar, forecasting unsettled weather characterized by rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds. The alert, which includes districts such as Gopalganj, Siwan, Bhojpur, Buxar, and Muzaffarpur, warns of wind speeds potentially reaching 40 to 50 kmph.
This weather pattern coincides with the near-completion of the southwest monsoon's withdrawal from the region. While northern and eastern districts like Purnea and Katihar are expected to see rainfall, Patna and its surrounding areas are predicted to remain mostly dry, despite the possibility of isolated light showers.
Weather activity is expected to weaken starting Saturday, with conditions generally improving across most of the state by Sunday.
