Bihar launches 211 new degree colleges and appoints 2,451 professors

Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has inaugurated an orientation programme for 2,451 newly appointed assistant professors. These educators will serve across 211 newly created degree colleges in the state.

Choudhary noted that Bihar is the first state in India to launch 211 degree colleges in a single day. He emphasized the importance of strengthening the state's education system to provide better opportunities for the youth, drawing parallels to the historical academic traditions of Nalanda and Vikramshila.

In addition to higher education, the Chief Minister announced the development of 700 Saraswati Vidya Niketan model schools. These schools are intended to enhance school education by providing improved academic environments and specialized coaching for competitive exams such as NEET and JEE, including access to live classes and 24/7 online tutoring.
