Bihar leaders expect BJP win in Banki‑pur by‑election, promise justice for Bharat Tiwari family
JD(U) national spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan said the Bharatiya Janata Party will secure a larger than usual victory in the Banki‑pur assembly by‑election, noting the party’s continuous success in the area since 1995 and asserting that no viable alternative exists for voters. He added that all NDA allies are actively campaigning and maintaining contact with the electorate.
In a separate development, Bihar minister Ashok Chaudhary visited the village of Bilauti in Bhojpur district to meet the family of the late activist Bharat Tiwari. Chaudhary promised that the government will pursue justice, inform the chief minister of the family's concerns, and investigate the circumstances of Tiwari’s death in a police encounter, including allegations of a large fund linked to displaced persons.
