Bihar man arrested for allegedly killing wife with petrol

A 21-year-old woman, identified as Damini Devi from Muzaffarpur, died after being allegedly set on fire by her husband, Sanjeev Sah, in the Supaul district of Bihar. The incident occurred near the Lalmanpatti canal in the Ratanpur police station area.

According to police reports, the couple had met through social media approximately two years ago and entered into a court marriage about nine to ten months ago. Tensions reportedly arose when Sanjeev Sah sought a divorce, which Damini Devi refused to grant.

On Saturday night, the accused allegedly lured his wife to a deserted location on a motorcycle. He is accused of purchasing petrol, dousing her in the liquid, and setting her ablaze. Damini Devi succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment at the Sadar Hospital in Supaul. Following the incident, the accused reportedly surrendered at the Bhaptiyahi police station. Police have arrested Sanjeev Sah and are questioning his father, Keenu Sah, as part of the ongoing investigation.
