Bihar Man in Russia Named in NEET Protest FIR
Mohammad Sadaqat, a resident of Kishanganj district in Bihar, says he has been living in Russia for the past four months. In a video that went viral on social media, he claims the Bihar police named him in a First Information Report (FIR) linked to the NEET paper‑leak protest that took place on July 24‑25 in Bahadurganj.
Sadaqat asked authorities to remove his name from the FIR, stating he was not present at the protest. Kishanganj Superintendent of Police Hari Mohan Shukla neither confirmed nor denied the claim when contacted, but said anyone with grievances could approach the police.
The Bihar state government announced it would withdraw all FIRs, complaints and show‑cause notices related to incidents that occurred before 6 a.m. on July 26, and would release all persons arrested in connection with the protests. The administration earlier reported that 694 people had been detained during the bandh, about half of whom were minors.
