Bihar Minister sparks controversy over Jamui sexual assault remarks

Bihar Minister Shravan Kumar has sparked controversy following his comments regarding a sexual assault case in the Jamui district. The incident involved a group of individuals attacking two 10th-grade students on the street, including the physical and sexual assault of a female student, which was captured in a video circulating on social media.

Addressing the media in Patna, Kumar described the incident as a “separate and isolated small event” that occurs sporadically, noting that the world is not entirely crime-free. While he assured that the state government is monitoring such incidents and that perpetrators will face strict legal action, his remarks have drawn public outrage.

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has condemned the incident, raising questions regarding the law and order situation and the safety of women in Bihar. Police have arrested three minors in connection with the case, and investigations are ongoing to apprehend other suspects.
