Bihar politicians debate law and order after Jamui molestation

Political leaders in India are responding to a recent molestation incident in Jamui, Bihar. Bihar Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha described the event as “unfortunate” and assured that the state government is committed to maintaining the rule of law, asserting that the state will not return to previous eras of lawlessness.

BJP MP Vivek Thakur condemned the incident as “tragic and reprehensible,” calling for swift administration action to instill fear in criminals. He also criticized opposition leaders for their shifting stances following the apprehension of the accused.

In response, NCP (SP) spokesperson Seema Malik criticized the BJP, accusing the party of hypocrisy regarding its women’s safety campaigns. Malik demanded stringent measures against the perpetrators and questioned the government's handling of the situation, arguing that such serious incidents should not be downplayed.
