Bihar Vigilance Bureau raids bureaucrat couple's premises

The Bihar Vigilance Investigation Bureau conducted raids at multiple locations in Patna and Begusarai linked to Ravindra Kumar Diwakar, the Additional District Magistrate (Supply) in Patna, and his wife, Kumari Sweety, the Sub-Registrar in Danapur. The operation was launched following allegations that the couple accumulated assets worth approximately Rs 1.07 crore that were disproportionate to their known sources of income.

During the searches, investigators recovered nearly Rs 80 lakh in cash, including Rs 70.53 lakh from a Patna residence and Rs 9.44 lakh from a Begusarai residence. Additionally, officials seized jewellery valued at approximately Rs 52.60 lakh and 48 wristwatches valued at roughly Rs 6.01 lakh.

The bureau also recovered documents related to bank accounts, investments, and various properties. Investigators have identified seven immovable properties purchased by the couple between 2017 and 2026, including flats in Danapur and several plots in Phulwari Sharif and Begusarai. Proceedings are underway to freeze two of the couple's bank accounts as the investigation continues under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
