Bijambare receives 214,000 KM for eco-friendly tourism upgrades

The Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism has approved 214,000 KM to upgrade tourism infrastructure and sustainable management within the Bijambare Protected Landscape in Sarajevo Canton, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

An agreement was signed by Federal Minister Nasiha Pozder and Asad Jelešković, director of the Cantonal Public Institution for Protected Natural Areas. The funds, allocated through the 2026 Environmental Strategy Action Plan, will support a project to enhance ecological transport and visitor management.

A key component of the project is the procurement of an eco-friendly tourist vehicle. This initiative aims to provide visitors with a higher quality, sustainable tour of the protected area while reducing traffic pressure on the natural environment, particularly during peak tourist seasons.
