Bijeljina court confirms indictment for domestic assault in Lopara

The Basic Court in Bijeljina has confirmed an indictment against a man accused of physically assaulting his parents in the Lopara area. The incident occurred on May 25, 2023, following a verbal dispute.

According to the indictment filed by the District Public Prosecutor's Office in Bijeljina, the man attacked his parents in the presence of his minor brother. The prosecution alleges that the man used a wooden stick to strike his mother on the hand before punching her in the forehead. He also reportedly struck his father in the chest, continuing to hit both parents.

The father sustained abrasions to his back and chest, as well as a bruise on his left wrist. The mother suffered a bruise on her left knee and a fracture to the tendon plate of her left fifth finger. The indictment states the defendant acted with the intent to disturb the peace and physical integrity of his parents.
