Bijelo Polje municipality disputes responsibility for Đalovića pećina project delays
A political dispute has emerged in Bijelo Polje regarding the delays affecting the Đalovića pećina valorization project. Jelenka Andrić, a member of the Europe Now Movement (PES), accused local DPS official Damir Mustajbašić of misleading the public. Andrić argued that the municipality has been responsible for resolving property-legal relations for priority projects, including Đalovića pećina, and criticized the DPS for failing to complete projects during their previous tenure.
In response, the Bijelo Polje Municipality's Directorate for Property and Protection of Rights stated that the local government completed its obligations regarding property-legal relations more than three years ago. The municipality clarified that while it assisted in resolving these issues in cooperation with the Government of Montenegro and the Real Estate Administration, the primary responsibility for expropriation lay with the state.
The municipality noted that the Nedakusi–Bistrica power line expropriation was finalized years ago, yet state authorities have not yet fully functionalized the line. Local officials rejected claims that the municipality is responsible for current delays, suggesting that recent issues, such as new vegetation growth, are being unfairly attributed to local government inaction.
