School security investigations launched in Montenegro and Croatia

Authorities in Montenegro and Croatia are investigating separate incidents of student threats in schools.

In Bijelo Polje, Montenegro, a teenager was reported for bringing a folding knife to a secondary school. During the investigation, students alleged the minor had previously created a “hit list” and a “hit map” on Snapchat, which included school layouts and nicknames. Police have filed criminal charges for inciting panic and disorder, and social workers have been ordered to increase supervision of the minor.

In Zagreb, Croatia, police launched a preventive operation following reports of risky behavior in a school in Novi Zagreb. The investigation was triggered by a TikTok video allegedly showing a student with a firearm. While parents raised concerns regarding a potential list of names, police emphasized that their rapid response was intended to eliminate any immediate security risks. The case is being handled in coordination with child protection services.
