Bijelo Polje worker dies after warehouse fall

A 61-year-old worker, identified as V. L., has passed away at the Clinical Center of Montenegro in Podgorica following a workplace accident in Bijelo Polje. The incident occurred on July 20 at the Put Gross company premises in Industrijska Street, where the worker fell through an opening from the third floor to the second floor of a warehouse.

Following her death, the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Bijelo Polje has ordered an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death and its connection to the injuries sustained during the fall. An investigation is currently underway to establish the circumstances of the accident and to determine if there were any failures in the application of mandatory occupational health and safety measures.

Prosecutor Vladan Đalović confirmed that case files have been formed and that an investigation is ongoing. While police and occupational safety experts conducted an initial inspection following the accident, no criminal proceedings have been officially launched against any individual at this time. The results of the autopsy and expert evaluations will be critical for the prosecutor's future actions.
