Bijnor police investigate deaths of couple found near Ganges

A couple was found dead in separate locations in the Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh, prompting an investigation by local authorities. The woman, identified as Sushma, was found near the banks of the Ganges river, while the man, identified as Chhotu, was discovered hanging from a tree in a nearby wooded area.

Following a missing persons report filed by the village pradhan, police and local residents conducted a search operation that was briefly interrupted by heavy rain. Post-mortem examinations revealed that the woman died from strangulation, while the man died by hanging.

Investigators are examining several unusual circumstances, including the condition of the bodies and the man's attire, to determine if the deaths were linked to prior conflicts or external factors. The investigation remains ongoing to establish the exact sequence of events leading to their deaths.
